Team Aruwa End-of-Year Hangout
On 13th December, the Aruwa Capital team came together for our annual end-of-year hangout at a beach house in Lagos, a perfect setting to reflect, recharge, and reconnect. As is our tradition, we shared stories of our wins, challenges, and lessons learned from the year, focusing on how we can grow stronger as a team. The day was filled with laughter, games, and heartfelt conversations, underscoring the bond that fuels our work and drives our shared vision. It’s moments like these that remind us that behind every milestone is a team that functions as one unit, built on trust, collaboration, and a shared passion for impact.
2. Community Building (Partners for Impact)
Aruwa Capital Partners with Included VC to Drive Diversity in Venture Capital
We are proud to share that Aruwa Capital has partnered with the Included VC programme, joining a global movement to democratise access to venture capital and unlock opportunities for diverse and underrepresented talent across Africa. This initiative aligns with our belief that representation matters, not just at decision-making tables but throughout the investment value chain.
3. Voices of Influence (Speaking Engagements)
Aruwa Capital at the 13th Edition of the Inspiring Women Series
Our Founder, Adesuwa Okunbo Rhodes, spoke at the 13th edition of Leading Woman in Lagos, hosted by Kemi Ajumobi, Editor, Business Day. Adesuwa joined the panel “Corporately Speaking, She Dared,” sharing her journey of breaking barriers, navigating challenges, and driving growth for women-led initiatives. The event, themed “The Audacity to Dare,” served as a platform to inspire bold leadership and champion transformative progress, aligning with Aruwa Capital’s mission to foster impactful change.
Aruwa Capital at Africa Investment Forum in Rabat, Morrocco
Our Founder, Adesuwa Okunbo Rhodes, participated in the Affirmative Finance Action for Women in Africa (AFAWA) Focused Dialogue Session at the Africa Investment Forum 2024 in Rabat, Morocco. Adesuwa joined a panel of industry leaders to explore strategies for bridging the gender financing gap, amplifying women-led success stories, and unlocking opportunities for women to lead Africa’s next wave of growth.
Despite spending less than 24 hours in Morocco, Adesuwa’s participation showcased Aruwa Capital’s dedication to joining meaningful conversations that drive transformative change and shape Africa’s economic future.
Aruwa Capital at Mentor Matchup Challenge 6.0
Our Founder, Adesuwa Okunbo Rhodes, joined a team of experts from various industries at the Mentor Matchup Challenge 6.0 which held in Lagos and was hosted by 234Finance. She sat on the local production panel to discuss strategies for strengthening Nigeria’s supply chains, improving efficiency, and reducing import dependency to enhance local industry resilience.

4. Beyond Our Walls (External Events)
Aruwa Capital at the EDFI Management Company office in Brussels
Our Founder, Adesuwa Okunbo Rhodes, met with the EDFI team in Brussels to explore potential collaborations. This follows a journey that began in May 2024 at the USAID Power Africa Investor Matchmaking event, where Aruwa Capital was spotlighted as one of the funds selected to present its clean energy investment thesis. In November, the EDFI ElectriFI team visited Lagos to meet #TeamAruwa and engage with our portfolio companies, further strengthening the connection. These engagements highlight Aruwa Capital’s growing recognition as a leader in impactful, gender-lens investments.
Aruwa Capital at the Elevate Africa Women Allying Women Event
Our Founder, Adesuwa Okunbo Rhodes, attended the Women Allying Women event, hosted by the Queen Consort of Warri Kingdom, Olori Atuwatse III. This exclusive event held as part of the Elevate Africa initiative was a gathering that brought together inspiring Nigerian women leaders, creating a platform to share ideas, values, and experiences that drive impactful change.
